Hawthorne-Finch Talent Solutions in Altrincham is seeking an Employment Solicitor/Associate (NQ–6 PQE) to join a specialist team advising a broad range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to larger corporates. The role blends contentious and non-contentious work in a collaborative, supportive environment.

You’ll advise on equality, restructurings, TUPE, covenants, and tribunals, while developing client relationships, supporting training, and contributing to business development at a pace

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) from NQ up to 6 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience).
• Strong employment law knowledge across a broad range of matters.
• Strong communication skills and practical, solutions-led approach.

Responsibilities

• Advising across the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including equality and discrimination, reorganisations and redundancies, restrictive covenants, TUPE, and Employment Tribunal claims.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and providing prompt, clear, pragmatic advice.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Supporting client training and contributing to business development and client training over time.

Location: Altrincham

Salary: £45,000 to £70,000 (depending on experience)

Our client is looking to recruit an Employment Solicitor/Associate (NQ–6 PQE) into a specialist team advising a broad range of clients, from owner-managed businesses through to larger corporates, as well as senior executives and individuals with complex employment issues. The team works collaboratively, supports development at every level, and regularly handles matters that overlap with corporate, commercial and dispute resolution.

This role offers a strong blend of contentious and non-contentious employment work, with the chance to take on responsibility at a pace that suits your level. You will be supported by experienced colleagues, encouraged to develop your technical expertise, and given scope to contribute to business development and client training over time.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Advising across the full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including:
• Equality and discrimination
• Reorganisations and redundancies
• Restrictive covenants
• TUPE
• Corporate support
• Employment Tribunal claims
• Acting for employers (including SMEs and owner-managed businesses) and senior employees
• Working closely with colleagues across corporate, commercial and dispute resolution where matters require cross-disciplinary input
• Providing prompt, clear and pragmatic advice focused on achieving client objectives
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting client training and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team
• Mentoring junior colleagues and providing supervision where appropriate
• Supporting marketing and business development activity for the employment team and wider firm
• Ensuring strong file management, accurate time recording and timely billing
• Maintaining confidentiality in line with firm policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) from NQ up to 6 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience)
• Strong employment law knowledge across a broad range of matters
• Experience gained within a national or leading regional firm (preferred)
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a practical, solutions-led approach
• Confident managing matters and client relationships, with the ability to collaborate well within a team
• Interest in developing your profile through client training, knowledge sharing and business development
