Job summary

Bovelle is seeking an Employment Law Consultant to support junior matters and a roster of top-quality clients. This role operates remotely with an option to base in Milton Keynes, and you don’t need to be a qualified solicitor.

You’ll handle junior matters, advise on contracts, policies and HR issues, and support senior colleagues on more complex cases. The role welcomes paralegals, legal executives and lawyers with solid employment law experience.

Qualifications

• Around two years' experience in employment law.
• Legal training or qualification as solicitor, legal executive or paralegal (you do not need to be a qualified solicitor).
• Comfort advising clients directly and working with a degree of independence.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain employment law clearly to non-lawyers.
• Happy to work remotely, with the option to be based in Milton Keynes.

Responsibilities

• Handling junior employment matters for a range of clients as an in-house style adviser.
• Advising on day-to-day employment issues such as contracts, policies, absence, disciplinary and grievance processes, and HR queries.
• Supporting more senior colleagues on larger or more complex matters and learning from them.
• Building relationships with clients and colleagues, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Helping the team work efficiently, freeing up senior people to take on higher-level work.

This opportunity is for an Employment Law Consultant to join a well-established tax advisory practice, taking on its junior employment matters and supporting a roster of top-quality business clients.

This isn't a law firm, and it doesn't work like one: there are no billable or chargeable hours, and you'll work like an in-house lawyer, but across a range of clients. You don't need to be a qualified solicitor. Paralegals, legal executives and lawyers are all welcome, as long as you have solid employment law experience. The role is remote, with the option to be based at the Milton Keynes office if you prefer.

About the Role

You will be:

• Handling junior employment matters for the practice's clients, working like an in-house lawyer across a range of businesses
• Advising on day-to-day employment issues such as contracts, policies, absence, disciplinary and grievance processes, and general HR queries
• Supporting more senior colleagues on larger or more complex matters, and learning from them as you go
• Building relationships with clients and colleagues, becoming a trusted point of contact
• Helping the team work efficiently, freeing up its senior people to take on higher-level work

About You

You will have:
