Origin Legal is recruiting an Employment Associate Solicitor (4+ PQE) for its Lancashire office. The role offers exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters and the opportunity to work with recognised experts in the field.

You will handle a varied caseload, engage in advocacy, and have a clear pathway for career progression within a well-regarded employment team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or CILEX is required.
• At least 4 years' PQE within Employment Law.
• Experience managing your own employment law caseload.
• Previous Employment Tribunal advocacy experience.
• Excellent technical knowledge across a wide spectrum of employment matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload while supporting senior colleagues on more complex matters.
• Provide practical, commercial and strategic legal advice to clients.
• Represent clients at Employment Tribunal hearings and other proceedings.
• Draft and review employment documentation.
• Assess legal and commercial risks and formulate case strategies.
• Negotiate settlements and achieve positive outcomes for clients.
• Work collaboratively with senior lawyers and partners on significant matters.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support networking and business development initiatives.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Associate Solicitor to join a highly regarded Employment team within a leading North West law firm.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advising a diverse client base on complex workplace issues while working alongside recognised experts in the field.

The successful candidate will enjoy a varied caseload, strong client contact, advocacy opportunities, and a clear pathway for career progression.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload while supporting senior colleagues on more complex matters across a wide range of employment law issues, including:

• Unfair Dismissal Claims
• Discrimination Matters
• TUPE and Business Transfers
• Redundancy and Restructuring Exercises
• Employment Tribunal Litigation
• Disciplinary and Grievance Matters
• Employment Contracts and Policies
• Settlement Agreements and Workplace Disputes

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied and often complex employment law caseload
• Providing practical, commercial and strategic legal advice to clients
• Representing clients at Employment Tribunal hearings and other legal proceedings

About You

Essential

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
• At least 4 years' PQE within Employment Law
• Strong experience managing your own employment law caseload
• Previous Employment Tribunal advocacy experience
• Excellent technical knowledge across a wide spectrum of employment matters
• Strong client care and communication skills
• Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

• Experience undertaking business development activities
• Established professional network and relationship-building skills
• Experience advising a broad commercial client base
