Job summary

Simpson Millar Solicitors is seeking a qualified solicitor to develop and manage a mixed EL/PL caseload in a busy practice. You will conduct advocacy where appropriate and ensure cases are progressed in line with firm policies and client needs.

The role includes business development, client referrals, and contributing to departmental growth within a hybrid working environment. You will join a people-focused firm that values client care and colleague wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
• Experience managing a multi-track EL/PL caseload.
• Experience conducting own advocacy.
• Strong business development skills.

Job description

To develop and manage a mixed caseload of Employers Liability and Public Liability (EL/PL) matters ensuring there is a focus on high value cases. In addition to managing a caseload, the role holder will conduct their own advocacy where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a mixed caseload of Employers Liability and Public Liability (EL/PL) matters.
• Effectively and efficiently conduct cases on behalf of clients in accordance with the overall policies and objectives of the firm.
• Develop local business to secure referrals.
• Participate in the development, marketing, and success of the department.

Key Requirements

• Must be qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales and hold a current practising certificate.
• Have demonstrated experience in managing a multi-track EL/PL caseload
• Demonstrated experience in in conducting own advocacy.
• Strong business development skills.
