Job summary

The University of Manchester’s Employee Relations Team is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to manage a varied portfolio of formal casework, including disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, absence management, whistleblowing and capability matters.

You will support hearings and investigations, contribute to training, produce management information, and help enhance how employee relations support is delivered across the University.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level and/or Chartered Membership of the CIPD.
• Good knowledge of ER processes and procedures within a large, unionised organisation.
• Excellent communication and people skills with ability to influence and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of ER cases under disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, absence management, whistleblowing and capability procedures.
• Supervise administrators in formal casework administration and maintain service standards.
• Deputise for ER Partners and act as initial contact in their absence.
• Support design, organisation and delivery of ER training with the Director and Partners.
• Produce monthly management information and reports for client areas.
