Job summary

University of Manchester is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to manage a portfolio of formal ER cases and support hearings, investigations and policy guidance. You will work with ER Partners, People colleagues and employee representatives in a large, diverse university setting.

You will contribute to ER training, manage casework administration, and help track and report on MI for client areas, while maintaining high confidentiality and fairness.

Qualifications

• Degree level and/or CIPD membership.
• Strong knowledge of disciplinary, grievance, dignity at work, absence management, whistleblowing and capability procedures.
• Excellent people and communication skills with a focus on resolution and improving outcomes.
• Experience in HR within a large, complex, unionised organisation with case management and inclusion—equality, diversity and development.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of ER cases under formal procedures and support hearings.
• Supervise administrators delivering formal casework administration and ensure SLAs are met.
• Deputise for ER Partners and act as first point of contact in their absence.
• Assist in designing and delivering ER-led training with the Talent Development team.
• Support ER Partners with tracking/reporting systems and monthly MI for client areas.
