Job summary

Nova Training in Kidderminster is seeking an Employability Tutor to help students develop knowledge, skills and behaviour, equipping them to secure employment. You will provide guidance and support while ensuring learners meet required standards.

You will create a positive learning environment, embed Functional Skills in lessons, assess work in line with awarding bodies and Ofsted, and mentor learners to complete qualifications.

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification (PTLLS or equivalent).
• Assessing qualification (Full TAQA or V1, desirable).
• Experience teaching 14-19 provision.
• Passion for teaching and supporting learners.
• Excellent communication and interpretation skills.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Ofsted IE framework, ESFA funding rules and safeguarding.
• Commitment to CPD and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Create conditions in the training centre to develop abilities, skills and confidence.
• Empathise, engage and inspire all learners across programmes.
• Embed Functional Skills in lessons as part of the curriculum.
• Regularly assess learners' work inline with awarding bodies and Ofsted requirements.
• Mentor and build relationships to motivate learners to complete learning aims and qualifications.
• Keep accurate records of learner progress, attendance and assessments.
