Job summary

Central YMCA in Doncaster is seeking an Employability Study Programme Tutor to deliver practical, employability-focused learning for young people in our centre. You will teach from Entry Level to Level 2, including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths, while providing pastoral support and working with apprenticeship teams and external partners to secure positive progression.

Qualifications

• PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent).
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational subject.
• Experience teaching English and Maths to Level 2.
• Experience delivering learning to young people in FE/post-16.
• Ability to motivate learners and adapt teaching to diverse needs.
• Strong classroom management and digital skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and learner wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver employability and skills-based teaching to post-16 learners.
• Teach Entry Level to Level 2, including Functional Skills and GCSE English/maths.
• Embed work readiness, behaviour, and social skills into lessons.
• Monitor learner progress and set individual learning targets.
• Organise and support assessments, coursework, and examinations.
• Provide pastoral and tutorial support to learners.
• Maintain accurate learner records using ICT and tracking systems.
• Build links with apprenticeship tutors and external organisations.

Education

PGCE / Cert Ed or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (or equivalent)
