Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students in a busy mainstream secondary school in Watford, Hertfordshire. You will provide one-to-one and small group assistance, helping pupils with mild SEN to reach their potential.

The role offers regular work, ongoing professional development, and a supportive local consultant. Experience with students or young people with additional needs, a calm and patient approach, and a willingness to obtain a DBS are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (personal or professional).
• A patient, understanding and resilient approach.
• Commitment to helping every pupil thrive.
• Willingness to obtain a DBS via Tradewind.

Responsibilities

• Support students with ASD or behavioural needs in class and during activities.
• Implement tailored learning and behaviour plans.
• Promote emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver inclusive education.
