Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an ALN Teaching Assistant for a Pontypool school. The role is temporary and full-time, with the potential for a long-term position for the right candidate. Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs / ALN (including PMLD).
• Comfortable teaching young pupils with ALN and supporting them 1-on-1.
• Able to stay calm and adapt to challenging situations with resilience.
• Previous experience in a similar TA role is essential.
• Manual handling experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with classroom preparation and management.
• Listen to and understand pupils to assess their needs and provide appropriate support.
• Differentiate instructions to meet individual pupil needs.
• Support pupils 1-on-1 to promote learning and inclusion.
