Job summary

GSL Education is seeking an experienced Personal Care Teaching Assistant to join a girls' secondary school in Tower Hamlets. You will provide intimate care and support students with educational needs in a caring environment.

The role is long-term and full-time, with a ASAP start and daily rate of £100-£120. Female applicants are required due to intimate caring duties and there's a strong emphasis on safeguarding and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Personal Care Teaching Assistant or similar support role.
• Experience providing intimate or personal care is essential.
• A valid Manual Handling Certificate is essential.
• Experience using beds, hoists or other manual handling equipment.
• Strong spoken and written English skills.
• Qualifications or training for working with children or young people.
• Caring, patient and supportive approach with professional boundaries.
• Female applicants are required for this role due to intimate care duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal and intimate care to students in a professional, respectful and dignified manner.
• Support students with daily personal care routines according to individual care plans.
• Carry out safe manual handling, including beds and hoists.
• Use manual handling equipment safely at all times.
• Support students in lessons and help them access learning activities.
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet students' needs.
• Promote independence, confidence and wellbeing wherever possible.
• Communicate clearly with students, staff and families when appropriate.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and personal care policies.
• Maintain confidentiality and treat all students with dignity.
