Job summary

Principal Education seeks caring Personal Care Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in Newham. You’ll provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with personal care (feeding and changing), and help pupils access learning while promoting independence.

Ideal candidates are patient, empathetic, with strong communication and teamwork skills, and based in Newham or within commutable distance.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• Experience with children or young people is desirable.
• Comfortable providing personal care including feeding and changing.
• Patient, caring and empathetic approach.
• Ability to support pupils with additional needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Assist with personal care including feeding, changing and toileting.
• Support pupils with mobility and day-to-day needs as required.
• Help pupils engage with learning and classroom activities.
• Build positive relationships while promoting dignity, confidence and independence.
• Work closely with teachers and other staff.
