Job summary

GSL Education is looking for an experienced Personal Care Teaching Assistant to support a female student cohort in a secondary girls' school in Tower Hamlets. You will play a key role in providing intimate care and ensuring students can access learning in a safe environment.

The role requires engaging with beds and hoists and collaborating with teachers to support individual education plans, while upholding safeguarding standards and student dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience providing intimate or personal care is essential.
• Strong spoken and written English skills.
• Relevant qualifications or training suitable for working with children or young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal and intimate care to students in a professional, respectful and dignified manner.
• Support students with daily personal care routines according to individual care plans.
• Carry out safe manual handling, including supporting students with beds and hoists.
• Use manual handling equipment safely and correctly at all times.
• Support students in lessons and help them access learning activities.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet students' individual needs.
• Promote students' independence, confidence and wellbeing wherever possible.
• Communicate clearly and positively with students, staff and families when appropriate.
• Follow school policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety and personal care.
• Maintain confidentiality and treat all students with respect and dignity.
