Job summary

East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a Fleet Driver to handle the safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles between locations, workshops and repairers.

You will perform pre-drive vehicle checks, undertake extended road tests after repairs, and report faults to the Workshop Supervisor before vehicles return to service. The role supports flexible working and serves a large East of England region.

Responsibilities

• Safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles between locations, workshops and repairers.
• Ensure vehicles are driven safely and economically and are identifiable as Trust vehicles.
• Carry out extended road tests of vehicles during collection/delivery to be ready for use.
• Report defects found during road tests to Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager before handover.
• Report faults if a vehicle is moved for emergency response to Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager.
• Keep fuel card and mobile phone secure; report loss or theft promptly to Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
• Maintain contact with Fleet Administrators and Workshop staff to confirm availability for work.
• Work across a diverse region with proximity to London and the North Sea coast; flexible working possible.
