Job summary

East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust is recruiting drivers responsible for the safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles across our sites and repairers.

You will conduct checks, perform road tests, and report any defects to workshop staff, ensuring vehicles are ready for 24/7 emergency and non-emergency transport.

The role emphasizes keeping fuel cards and mobile devices secure, coordinating with Fleet Administrators, and staying flexible to support our diverse counties.

Qualifications

• Responsible for the safe collection and delivery of Trust vehicles to workshops and other repairers.
• Before any journey, ensure tyres are legal, lights function, coolant and fuel are adequate.
• Report defects or faults found during road tests to the Workshop Supervisor or Workshop Manager.
• Maintain secure custody of fuel cards and mobile phones issued during shifts and report losses promptly.

Responsibilities

• Carry out extended road tests of vehicles after repairs to ensure readiness for service.
• Keep Fleet Administrators and Workshop Managers informed of availability for work.
