Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a pharmacist to join the Emergency and Specialist Medicine team, spanning the LRI and LGH sites. You will provide daily clinical pharmacy care on wards, prescribe and review medications, and support audit and teaching activities within a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes rota cover, evenings, on-call, bank holidays and weekends, with a focus on acute medicine, stroke and rheumatology, and requires at least two years post-registration

Qualifications

• GPhC registration as a pharmacist.
• At least two years post-registration experience.
• Relevant clinical experience in hospital pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy on wards and clinics for the clinical directorate.
• Prescribe and review medications with evidence-based practice.
• Pursue audit, research and dissemination of results.
• Assist with training and development of staff.
• Contribute to evening, on-call, bank holiday and weekend rotas.
• Support improvement of pharmacy services.
• Lead local initiatives such as discharge processes with specialties.
