Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Pharmacist for Emergency and Specialist Medicine (ESM). You will provide daily clinical pharmacy services and contribute to education and training across wards and clinics within a large Trust serving Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

The role includes prescribing and reviewing medication, leading audits and research, and supporting staff development, with a focus on patient‑centred care and multidisciplinary collaboration

Qualifications

• Approaching 2 years (minimum) post-registration experience in pharmacy practice with relevant clinical experience.
• Evidence of communication skills, verbal/written. Good interpersonal and communication.
• Sound current clinical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• To participate in the delivery of optimum pharmaceutical care to patients served by the clinical directorate on specified ward(s) / clinics and deliver a level of clinical input commensurate with the grade.
• Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence-based practice and national and practice protocols, and within scope of practice.
• Actively pursue audit, research and development within the CMG and the department. Publicise the results of such work through presentations and publications.
• Assist with the training and development of staff
