Job summary

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a Driver Training Specialist to deliver and develop driver training for firefighters and staff across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. You will create training packages, work with diverse teams, and attend training and meetings to support ongoing professional development.

The role requires LGV Category C with at least 3 years of experience, and qualifications in driver assessment and coaching. A commitment to CPD and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
• Assessors qualification or coaching qualification.
• NFCC ERDT Instructor qualification is a desirable credential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess driver training across a range of vehicles and locations.
• Maintain accurate records of training activities and participant progress.
• Update and develop training materials reflecting current best practices and legislation.
• Ensure courses comply with National Fire Chiefs Council, DVSA, and legislative standards.
• Manage training equipment and resources, ensuring readiness and availability.
• Lead environmental training initiatives within the organisation.
• Collaborate with external partners and other fire services to improve training outcomes.
• Support quality assurance processes to monitor and improve training delivery.
