Job summary

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Driver Training Manager at the Leadership and Development Centre, Chorley. You will lead driver training, ensure legal compliance, and drive continuous improvement in training for all service vehicles.

The role requires a Driving Examiner qualification, a full Category B licence, and the ability to travel to service locations. Regular hours are 36.25 per week with some evenings/weekends for training delivery.

Qualifications

• Full Category B driving licence.
• Driving Examiner qualification required.
• Experience in driver training and fleet operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Service’s driver training function to high standards.
• Maintain legal compliance and promote best practice across training.
• Lead Driver Trainers and Associate Driver Trainers and supervise delivery.
• Develop training programmes, policies and guidance for safe vehicle operations.
• Identify future training needs and manage budgets/resources.
• Represent the Service at regional and national training forums.
