QM Environmental, one of Canada’s leading civil and environmental service providers, is seeking a hands-on Emergency Response Team Lead to join our growing Emergency Response division in Victoria, BC. For over 30 years, QM has been trusted to manage incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous materials with industry-leading strategies, equipment, and integrity.

What You will Do:

  • Lead field operations and coordinate personnel and equipment during emergency responses
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and enforce safe work practices
  • Develop and execute defensive/offensive response strategies
  • Complete administrative tasks and incident reporting
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering ongoing training and development
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and be available for short-notice deployments
  • Engage in physical, outdoor work in varied and potentially hazardous environments

What you bring to the table:

  • Valid BC Driver’s License
  • NFPA 472 Technician Level certification (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible, dynamic shifts
  • Confined Space Entry & Rescue Certification
  • Rope Rescue Technician Level
  • NFPA 472 Tank Car/Truck Specialist
  • Experience with chemical handling, hazardous waste transport, and spill response
  • Familiarity with the Incident Command/Management System
  • Ability to work with heavy equipment, pumps, instrumentation (e.g., gas meters), and in industrial environments including heights and confined spaces

Pay range: $35 - $39 / Hour (overtime available)
