Job summary

Rullion is seeking an Assistant Emergency Preparedness Engineer at Heysham Power Station, near Morecambe, to support the planning, coordination, administration and delivery of Emergency Preparedness activities and ensure readiness for emergency response.

You will assist in exercises, training, governance and documentation, maintain equipment readiness, and work with stakeholders to continuously improve procedures and reporting across the station.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in regulated, industrial or operational environments.
• Knowledge of emergency planning, resilience or nuclear safety.
• Ability to understand, interpret and apply procedures and technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational and planning skills with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordination and delivery of Emergency Preparedness activities.
• Support governance meetings, documentation and action tracking.
• Prepare briefing packs, learning resources and training materials.
• Maintain equipment inventories and readiness for emergency response.
• Support continuous improvement, audits and lessons learned from exercises.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the station to ensure preparedness.
