Job summary

EDF Energy invites applications for an Emergency Preparedness Industrial Placement based at Heysham 1 or Heysham 2 in Lancashire. The 12-month placement starts at £26,050 and includes a tailored training programme, hands-on experience and exposure to emergency planning in a nuclear context.

You’ll contribute to exercises, prepare communications and engage with authorities, while gaining cross-functional insight into plant operations and safety governance.

Qualifications

• 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Business, Engineering or Science.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Genuine desire to learn and develop new capabilities.
• Good teamwork and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and delivery of emergency exercises and training events.
• Create communications material to support the Emergency Scheme administration.
• Attend internal and external emergency planning forums with local authorities and emergency services.
• Support improvement projects related to emergency facilities and equipment.
