Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Emergency Practitioner Team Lead. You will provide autonomous assessment and management of minor injuries and illnesses in the ED, and lead the Emergency Practitioner service across Trust sites.

The role requires current NMC/HCPC registration, post-graduate competencies, and experience in leading multidisciplinary teams. Based at BHH ED with occasional support to Solihull UTC, offering full-time flexible pattern.

Qualifications

• NMC/HCPC registration required with current practice
• Post-graduate clinical competencies in minor injury/illness
• Evidence of lifelong learning and post-graduate development

Responsibilities

• Provide autonomous assessment, diagnosis and management of minor injuries/illnesses
• Lead day-to-day management of the Emergency Practitioner service
• Ensure safe staffing, patient flow and quality care
• Supervise and mentor learners and junior staff
• Support service development, audits and risk management
• Maintain safeguarding and infection prevention practices
