Job summary

Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician (NHS AfC Band 5) to join the Urgent and Emergency Department. The role involves medicines administration, reconciliations and patient counselling as part of a dedicated team dedicated to patient safety and quality of care.

The post is permanent, full time (37.5 hours/week) with a salary of £32,073 – £39,043 per annum pro rata and standard NHS terms.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in pharmacy or equivalent.
• Experience of direct patient contact.
• Experience working with clinical staff and provision of information and advice.
• Experience of work at ward level.

Responsibilities

• Carry out medicines administration to inpatients in accordance with prescription requirements.
• Undertake competency-based training in preparation and administration of medicines.
• Accurately record administration of medicines on inpatient prescriptions and promote safe, timely administration.
• Provide information and advice to patients when administering medicines.
• Contribute to audits and data collection relating to medicines management.
