Job summary

SELDOC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioner to join our Urgent Treatment Centre team. You will work autonomously and cooperatively with ED and hospital services, managing a diverse urgent care caseload and providing high-quality patient care.

Candidates must hold NMC/HCPC registration with advanced practice, and have experience in paediatrics and urgent/emergency settings. Flexible working options include on-site or remote activity, with opportunities for development

Qualifications

  • Registered with NMC/HCPC and eligible to practice in the UK.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Practice (Level 7 or equivalent).
  • Proven diagnostic reasoning and decision-making in urgent care.

Responsibilities

  • Take comprehensive histories and perform clinical assessments in UTC.
  • Validate patient streaming from ED to UTC for appropriateness.
  • Diagnose and manage undifferentiated urgent/emergency conditions including paediatrics.
  • Order/interpret X-rays, initiate treatment, discharge or refer as needed.
  • Provide wound care, suturing, and administer medications where qualified.
  • Develop safe, patient-centred management plans with safety-netting.
  • Collaborate across Emergency Department and community care pathways.
  • Mentor juniors and contribute to guidelines and service improvements.

Hours: Flexible - Full-Time/Part-Time, including on-call shifts

Are you an Emergency Nurse Practitioner looking for a dynamic and rewarding role?

Join SELDOC, a successful GP cooperative with over 25 years of service, delivering high-quality primary and urgent care to 2 million patients across South London. As part of our dedicated team, you’ll have the flexibility to work on-site or remotely, conducting telephone consultations or seeing patients face-to-face at our bases.

We are seeking experienced and motivated Emergency Nurse Practitioners to join our Urgent Treatment Centre team. As an ENP, you will work autonomously and collaboratively across the UTC, Emergency Department, and wider hospital services, managing a diverse caseload of patients presenting with urgent and emergency needs.

You should be a registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC) with advanced clinical skills, able to assess, diagnose, and manage patients confidently while contributing to a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out comprehensive history-taking, clinical examinations, and initial patient assessments in the UTC.
  • Confirming the appropriateness of patients streamed into the UTC by ED
  • Diagnose and manage patients with undifferentiated urgent and emergency conditions, including paediatrics.
  • Order, interpret, and act on X-rays, initiate treatment, and discharge or refer patients appropriately.
  • Provide high-quality wound care, suturing, and medication administration, including prescribing if qualified.
  • Use advanced reasoning to create safe, patient-centred management plans with safety-netting advice.
  • Work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues across the Emergency Department and community care pathways.
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to guidelines, protocols, and service improvement.

Person Specification:

  • Current NMC/HCPC registration.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Advanced Practice (Level 7 or working towards).
  • Competence in diagnostic reasoning, X-ray interpretation, wound management, and clinical decision-making.
  • Minimum 1-year ENP/ACP/NP experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience in paediatrics, including children under 2 years.
  • Leadership or service improvement training.
