Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking an Emergency Nurse Practitioner to work autonomously in Minor Injury Units within an established team. The role focuses on advanced clinical assessment, complex decision-making and evidence-based, patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will contribute to staff development and learning while managing patients with minor injuries and ensuring safe discharge or appropriate referrals in line with clinical pathways.

Job description

The successful candidate will hold an Emergency Nurse Practitioner qualification, or equivalent, and demonstrate a clear commitment to delivering evidence-based practice alongside advanced clinical assessment and complex decision-making skills. The post holder will work autonomously within our Minor Injury Units as part of an established Emergency Nurse Practitioner team. They will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring clinical practice is evidence based and delivered in accordance with agreed policies and guidelines. The role also includes contributing to a positive learning environment that supports the development of staff and students. The successful candidate will have significant experience in the assessment and management of patients presenting with minor injuries. They will be expected to undertake comprehensive clinical assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, request and interpret appropriate investigations, and initiate evidence-based treatment plans. The post holder will be responsible for the safe discharge of patients or referral to appropriate services in line with agreed clinical pathways and protocols.

The successful candidate will be required to hold an accredited autonomous practice qualification in minor injuries, specifically the Level 7 Diploma in the Autonomous Management of Minor Injuries (Wales) QCF (Agored Cymru 2016 and RCEM 2016). Applicants should also be able to demonstrate substantial knowledge, clinical expertise, and experience in the autonomous assessment and management of patients presenting with minor injuries.
