Job summary

Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London is recruiting a Locum Consultant in Emergency General Surgery with Upper GI interest to support the evolution of our unit. The post will be based in the Department of General Surgery and aims to bring the EGS Consultant count to five.

The successful candidate will have upper GI training, participate in both elective and emergency procedures, and will benefit from mentoring as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead appropriate and safe management of patients under care, including elective and emergency general surgery patients.
• On-call evenings and weekends with a 1 in 13 commitment.
• Mentoring available for those who require it.
• Open and laparoscopic emergency operations including hot laparoscopic cholecystectomies; involvement in CEPOD lists and SDEC pathways.
