Job summary

Wales & West Utilities Limited is recruiting an Emergency First Call Operative to support the gas network in North Wales (Anglesey & Gwynedd). You will respond to gas emergencies, classify and manage gas-related work, and install or service gas meters as required.

The role requires ACS qualifications (MET1, CMA1, CCN1, CMET or equivalent), a full UK driving licence, and willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and a 24/7 standby rota.

Qualifications

• At least one ACS qualification such as MET1 CMA1 CCN1 CMET.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Willingness to work various shift patterns including weekends and evenings.
• Experience with pipework in extending supply where meters may be moved.

Responsibilities

• Respond to gas emergencies and leaks as part of the emergency service.
• Classify and defer gas escapes, testing, survey and diagnostic work where appropriate.
• Install, maintain, replace and remove gas meters.
• Work safely with the gas network in all weather conditions as part of a team.

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for an Emergency First Call Operatives in our North Wales area (covering Anglesey and Gwynedd) to play a big part in the delivery of the future of our gas network and we want to hear from you!

You’ll be relied on to:

• Play a key role in the gas emergency service responding to gas leaks and emergencies reported by members of the public.
• Participate in the provision of an emergency service which must be delivered in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner,
• Classify and, where appropriate, defer gas escapes, testing, survey and detection and diagnostic work in gas consumers premises and on our network.
• Install, maintain, replace and remove gas meters.

You’ll need to have:

• A minimum of one ACS qualification – such as: MET1 & CMA1, CCN1, CMET, Appliances etc
• A full valid driving licence
• A willingness to work various shift patterns which includes weekend and evening work, and participation in a 24/7 standby rota.
• The energy to work in all weather conditions.
• The ability to work well as part of a team.
• Be fully committed to undertaking the necessary training and upskilling.
• Experience required in pipework to participate in extend supply's where meter positions have been moved.
