Job summary

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Dispatch Support Assistant (Band 3) on an 18 month secondment basis for our Emergency Operations Centre at Medway MRC. Hours are full-time or part-time with a salary of £25,760–£27,476 per annum plus Unsocial hours enhancements.

The role involves coordinating ambulance resources, supporting dispatch teams, and maintaining accurate records across operational systems to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the booking on and off of operational crews within the CAD system.
• Maintaining accurate resource availability and out-of-service information.
• Communicating with frontline staff, voluntary responders and partner agencies via telephone and radio.
• Allocating resources to specific incidents when directed by a Resource Dispatcher.
• Escalating welfare, staffing or resource concerns appropriately.
• Maintaining accurate records across a range of operational systems.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Emergency Operations Centre to support patient care.
