Job summary

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Practice Educator for the Emergency Department. The role focuses on leading and delivering high-quality clinical education for adult and paediatric areas, including Resus, Triage, EDAU, Fit to Sit and Majors.

You will develop competency frameworks, support induction and ongoing development, and collaborate with the wider clinical team to align with service priorities and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• UK Registered Nurse with active registration.
• Master’s level qualification in a health-related subject.
• Recognised teaching qualification and recent teaching experience.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Health assessment and physical examination qualification.
• Non-Medical Prescriber (willing to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and deliver high-quality clinical education across ED.
• Provide hands-on clinical support, identifying learning needs.
• Develop, implement and monitor competency frameworks.
• Support induction, preceptorship and ongoing development.
• Facilitate clinical supervision, assessment and sign-off.
• Collaborate with senior nursing, medical and AHP teams.
• Monitor training compliance and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Promote a positive learning culture and wellbeing.
