Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for the Emergency Assessment Unit (AMU). The role involves rapid assessment and admission of emergency patients, mentoring junior staff and maintaining high standards of care across nine medical specialties.

You will work under the direction of the Department Sister/Charge Nurse, practising per the NMC Code and contributing to CPD and professional development within a dynamic AMU environment.

Qualifications

• Completed preceptorship after qualifying.
• Mentorship preparation or equivalent, or completed once in post where applicable.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and a personal professional profile.

Responsabilités

• Work with the multidisciplinary AMU team across all areas of the department.
• Maintain a high standard of patient care under the direction of the Department Sister/Charge Nurse.
• Practise in line with the NMC Code and within limits of competence.
• Manage the Emergency Department environment and staffing when no senior member of staff is present.
• Assess and delegate workload according to staff competencies.
• Mentor and supervise junior staff and learners, and provide induction for new staff.
• Complete the Trust preceptorship programme and RCN Competency Standards for Emergency Nurses.
• Become competent in all enhanced practice roles in A&E.
• Assess and treat paediatric patients.
• Assess and treat patients with mental health issues.
• Keep practice evidence-based and current through continuing professional development.
• Act as a role model for the Trust's PRIDE values and inclusive behaviour.
