Job summary

Fireworks AI in London seeks a highly capable software engineer to advance our inference and training stack for the EMEA region. You will design and ship backend capabilities, routing, observability, and tooling for LLMs, prioritising principled problem solving over customer-facing work.

There is no strict seniority; candidates with 3–10 years of experience who excel at first principles thinking will fit. Strong Python and systems skills are essential, plus an interest in AI infrastructure.

Qualifications

• First principles and critical thinking: break down novel problems without references.
• Excellent software engineering: ship production systems you owned.
• Strong coding in Python and at least one systems language.
• Fluent in AI-assisted engineering and coding agents.
• Genuine interest in inference and AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build: design and ship product capabilities end to end from need to production.
• Build on Inference: create capabilities on the serving stack: routing, controls, observability.
• Build on Training: tooling for fine-tuning and post-training of LLMs.
• Own Regional Capability: turn EMEA requirements into product with core platform.
• Engineering Quality: set engineering bar for the regional team.
• Agentic Development: use coding agents and AI tooling to build with judgment.
• Optional Customer Work: join deployments when useful or interesting.
