Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal in the UK is hiring a Manager Financial Reporting to join the EMEA Finance Team in Manchester. You will lead month-end close, prepare statutory and management accounts, and ensure intercompany reconciliation and VAT compliance.

The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with 5–8 years PQE, strong Excel skills, and experience in professional services or multi-site businesses. You will partner with auditors and external advisors while mentoring junior colleagues.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACCA/ACA and 5–8 years PQE in professional services.
• Experience with local GAAP/IFRS and VAT in EMEA; multi-site exposure.
• Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivots) and familiarity with SAP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close under GAAP and ensure timely journals.
• Prepare management accounts, reconciliations, and intercompany invoices.
• Coordinate VAT returns and statutory filings across UK and EMEA.
• Support audit processes and maintain strong external relationships.
• Mentor junior staff and promote robust internal controls.
• Collaborate with tax colleagues and external advisors.
• Drive process improvements and maintain accuracy across entities.
