Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm seeking a qualified accountant with 5–8 years PQE to lead financial reporting across the EMEA region. The role sits within the EMEA Finance Team and involves month-end close, VAT, intercompany activity, and statutory reporting for multiple entities.

You will partner with external advisors, auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely financial statements and compliance, with opportunities for development in a high-performance,

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA desirable) with 5 to 8 years PQE.
• Experience in an international multi-site business with FX exposure.
• Experience in preparing local GAAP and group financial statements (FRS102/IFRS).
• VAT preparation and submission knowledge (EMEA and UK).
• Robust technical accounting knowledge; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivots) and SAP familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Complete monthly close to global deadlines, posting month-end journals.
• Prepare, review and reconcile monthly intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
• Lead or support preparation of UK and non-UK statutory accounts and VAT returns.
• Assist with group audit and financial statements preparation and reporting.
• Maintain strong relationships with external advisors, auditors and local accountants.
