Job summary

Brainlabs is seeking a UK Financial Controller to provide 12-month maternity cover for our Finance Operations team, leading day-to-day control across 4 entities (3 UK, 1 Spanish). You will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and payroll for UK and Spain, while maintaining strong controls and supporting audit processes.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, 3+ years in financial management, and solid IFRS/tax knowledge. London-based, multi-entity experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in financial management within a fast-paced, multi-entity or international business.
• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of UK regulations, IFRS, and tax requirements.
• Proven experience owning month-end close and financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Experience leading, developing, and managing a finance team.
• Ability to work independently, taking ownership and resolving issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day EMEA finance function, managing a team and overseeing a finance group.
• Own month-end close and financial reporting across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
• Maintain strong financial control including reconciliations and key controls.
• Oversee working capital, cash management, and weekly payment runs.
• Lead debtor management and cash collection with 90% current.
• Own monthly payroll for UK and Spanish entities.
• Manage Group VAT and statutory obligations.
• Coordinate FY27 year-end audit with external auditors.
