Job summary

Reuters Breakingviews in London is seeking a talented, imaginative columnist to join our crack team. You will set the agenda on mergers, corporate finance, banking, and markets for one of the world’s leading financial centres.

Ideally based in London, reporting to Breakingviews’ EMEA editor, you’ll have a wide license to sniff out, formulate and present your views on the biggest stories affecting financiers and dealmakers.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of how companies and financial markets work.
• Ability to formulate strong opinions under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in sourcing, organizing and analyzing data to support arguments.

Responsibilities

• Research and write punchy and original views on deals, companies and financial markets that set the agenda for our global audience.
• Develop and maintain contacts with senior executives, financiers, and policymakers.
• Combine quick, authoritative takes on breaking news with original and deeply researched columns.
• Project ideas through eye-catching graphics, podcasts, videos, and live events.
• Collaborate with the global Breakingviews team to illuminate cross-border themes.
