Job summary

Reuters Breakingviews is seeking a talented columnist to set the agenda on mergers, corporate finance, banking and markets from London. The role reports to Breakingviews’ EMEA editor and offers a wide license to sniff out, formulate and present views with original, deeply researched columns.

You will develop contacts with senior executives and policymakers, and collaborate with the global Breakingviews team to illuminate cross-border themes.

Qualifications

• Firm understanding of how companies and financial markets work.
• Proven ability to formulate strong, well-argued opinions under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency at sourcing, organising and analysing data to support arguments.

Responsibilities

• Research and write punchy and original views on deals, companies and financial markets.
• Develop and maintain contacts with senior executives, financiers and policymakers.
• Combine quick, authoritative takes on breaking news with original and deeply researched columns.
• Project ideas through eye-catching graphics, podcasts, videos, and live events.
• Collaborate with the global Breakingviews team to tackle cross-border themes.
