Job summary

The Best Connection are recruiting an Embroidery Operative to join Schoolblazer Embroidery in their UK warehouse. You will load templates on the embroidery machine, frame materials, and apply heat seals to garments.

You will also print and cut vinyl transfers, check job sheets for logos and sizes, and pack finished garments. Training is provided and you will work in a small team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Past experience in embroidery or heat transfer is a plus but not essential.
• Willing to receive full training and work in a small team.
• Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate embroidery machine and load correct colour threads.
• Frame material and prepare garments for embroidery.
• Set machine functions and apply templates and logos.
• Unpack garments, apply heat transfers, and pack finished orders.
• Maintain equipment and keep the workspace tidy.

Embroidery Operative

Schoolblazer are the UK's leading supplier of uniform and sportswear to independent schools. Significant growth, in their brand new warehouse, means they are now looking to add to their warehouse team...

Following instructions from your Embroidery Department Manager, you will be responsible for:

Heat seal application

• Printing and cutting vinyl transfers so they are ready to be applied to garments
• Unpacking garments so they are ready for heat application
• Lining up garments correctly with the transfers under the heat seal machine to ensure the transfer is applied correctly.
• Checking job sheets for relevant information including, logos, sizes, products

Embroidery role

• Loading templates on the embroidery machine
• Framing material ready for embroidering
• Setting the embroidery machine to the correct functions and loading with the correct colour threads.
• Tearing away backing, folding, bagging and packing garments
• Maintenance of equipment including replacing needles, cleaning and oiling machinery
• Ensuring high level of productivity and working efficiently to maximise output

As well as the above the candidate must have a good eye for detail, be able to work in a small team in a fast-paced environment. Past experience in any of the above is a plus however not crucial & our client are willing to provide full training.

Working hours / pay rate:

• 8am - 4pm, Mon to Thurs and 8am & 1pm Friday (Out of peak season)
• Fri 8am & 4pm (In peak season)
