Job summary

A1 Workwear and Supplies in Greater London is seeking an Apprentice / Trainee Embroidery Machine Operator. This role offers full training to learn operating commercial embroidery equipment and to develop a long-term career in branded workwear production.

You will learn to prepare garments, set up designs, and produce high-quality branded clothing for customers, with opportunities to progress as you gain experience. Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm, on-site work environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate commercial multi-head embroidery machines.
• Prepare garments, uniforms, workwear and polo shirts for embroidery.
• Set up embroidery designs, threads, needles and machine settings.
• Load and position garments onto embroidery frames and hoops.
• Monitor machines to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Check logo positioning and stitching quality on finished garments.
• Trim threads and finish embroidered garments.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Pack completed orders for dispatch and assist with stock control.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking Apprentice / Trainee Embroidery Machine Operator to join our growing garment decoration and branded workwear production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn a skilled trade and develop a long-term career within the embroidery, branded clothing and workwear industry

Full training will be provided, so previous embroidery experience is not essential.

You will learn how to operate commercial embroidery machines, prepare garments, set up embroidery designs and produce high-quality branded clothing for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Learning to operate commercial multi-head embroidery machines.
• Preparing garments, uniforms, workwear, polo shirts, jackets and other clothing for embroidery.
• Learning how to set up embroidery designs, threads, needles and machine settings.
• Loading and positioning garments correctly onto embroidery frames and hoops.
• Monitoring embroidery machines during production to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Checking logo positioning, stitching quality and finished garments.
• Trimming threads, removing backing materials and finishing embroidered garments.
• Learning basic machine maintenance, cleaning and troubleshooting.
• Picking, packing and preparing completed orders for dispatch.
• Assisting with stock control and organising production materials.
• Ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Supporting the wider production team during busy periods.
