Job summary

Indra Group UK & Ireland is seeking a Software Engineer to support the development, integration and maintenance of software on Front Office devices. The role emphasizes embedded software behavior analysis, troubleshooting and ensuring reliable communication between hardware and software components.

You will work closely with hardware and systems teams, contribute to testing and deployment processes, and support production environments with modern development practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience with C/C++.
• Experience with embedded or device-level software.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, MQTT and WebSockets.
• Experience with Git version control.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and/or Windows.
• Familiarity with CMake and modern build processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and troubleshoot C/C++ applications for Front Office devices and embedded platforms.
• Analyse software behaviour and investigate issues affecting device performance and service availability.
• Support integration of hardware devices and peripherals (POS terminals, NFC, printers, Bluetooth).
• Design, implement and maintain software interfaces using REST APIs, MQTT and WebSockets.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to validate device integration.
• Participate in unit/integration testing and defect resolution.
• Contribute to version control, build management and deployment processes.
• Investigate incidents in production and contribute to continuous improvement.
