Job summary

Evera Recruitment Ltd is partnering with an innovative climate-tech startup to hire an Embedded Systems Engineer to take technical ownership of its embedded platform built around a novel microbial energy technology.

You'll design ultra-low-power electronics, develop robust C/C++ firmware for low-power MCUs, integrate sensors and wireless connectivity (LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, BLE), and take products from prototype to production.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience developing embedded systems in commercial or applied R&D.
• Strong electronic design and embedded C/C++ skills.
• Experience with platforms such as STM32, Nordic or TI.
• Familiarity with LoRaWAN, NB-IoT or BLE.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Owning the architecture of the embedded platform across electronics, firmware and power management.
• Designing ultra-low-power electronics, including schematics, PCB layout and hardware debugging.
• Developing robust C/C++ firmware for low-power microcontrollers.

• Running laboratory and field validation to identify failure modes and improvements.

Working directly with the founders, you will develop ultra-low-power systems designed to run autonomously in remote environments for years, with the opportunity to grow into the company's embedded technical lead.

The Embedded Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

• Owning the architecture of the embedded platform across electronics, firmware and power management
• Designing ultra-low-power electronics, including schematics, PCB layout and hardware debugging
• Developing robust C/C++ firmware for low-power microcontrollers
• Integrating sensors and wireless connectivity such as LoRaWAN, NB-IoT or BLE
• Taking products from prototype through to reliable, manufacturable production

The Embedded Systems Engineer will have:
