Job Summary:

They are a leader in the Defence and Security sector, specializing in Maritime products, seeking a Senior Software Engineer with experience in Embedded Signal Processing to work on cutting-edge defence projects, particularly sonar signal processing.

Important:

Candidates must be eligible to obtain an SC (Security) clearance. The role requires onsite presence 2-3 days per week, involving hands-on work with test rigs and embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Designing software solutions.
2. Implementing and testing software in Assembler and C, including unit and integration testing.
3. Implementing, integrating, and optimizing sonar signal processing algorithms.
4. Developing maintainable, high-quality code.
5. Loading code onto bespoke embedded hardware and conducting tests.
6. Analyzing defects, resolving issues, and supporting verification teams.
7. Peer reviewing design and code, fostering learning and feedback.
8. Designing software architecture using UML and Enterprise Architect.
9. Estimating work and building work package backlogs.
10. Tracking progress using Azure DevOps.
11. Providing progress reports and participating in sprint planning and retrospectives.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

• Proficiency in C development.
• Experience in embedded system design.
• Understanding of signal processing techniques.
• Experience in software/hardware integration and fault resolution.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience with FPGA and DSP hardware.
• Familiarity with Python is beneficial.
