Job summary

Horizon Teachers is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join a well-regarded secondary special school in North London, supporting students aged 11-19 with diverse communication needs.

This role embeds therapy within classrooms and the school's daily life, with therapy staff treated as part of the team. You will assess, plan, and coach staff to promote functional communication and independence.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration is essential and RCSLT membership.
• Newly qualified therapists are warmly welcomed with structured supervision.
• Experience in paediatric/education/SEN settings is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of students aged 11–19 with diverse speech and language needs.
• Carry out assessments and write practical reports for EHCP and annual reviews.
• Plan and deliver individual and small group interventions; model strategies in class.
• Train and coach teachers and support staff to sustain communication strategies.
