Job summary

Platform Recruitment seeks an Embedded Systems Engineer in Oxford, offering hybrid working and a permanent contract. You will develop embedded Linux platforms for FPGA SoCs, focusing on control, data‑acquisition and communications systems used in quantum technologies.

You will build Linux distributions with Yocto or Buildroot, develop BSPs and device trees, and work on drivers and integration for RF and sensor hardware using C/C++, Rust and Python.

Qualifications

• Embedded Linux development on FPGA SoC platforms.
• Experience with Yocto, Buildroot or similar.
• C or C++ software development; Python scripting beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded Linux software for FPGA SoC platforms.
• Build Linux distributions using Yocto or Buildroot.
• Develop BSPs, device trees and low‑level drivers.
• Support board bring‑up, integration and debugging.
• Develop C/C++, Rust and Python software.
• Integrate FPGAs, microcontrollers, sensors and communications hardware.
