Job summary

Plextek is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, build and test embedded systems across sensing, robotics, communications, and IoT. You will work on Linux-based and bare-metal environments, with drivers, algorithms, and protocols.

Expect collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and opportunities to explain technical matters to customers. The role involves development on embedded Linux and RTOS platforms, with exposure to Yocto, OpenCPI, SOSA, and STICS.

Qualifications

• Embedded Linux development with device trees, user-space and kernel-space.
• Willingness to learn Yocto to build and maintain custom Linux images.
• Ability to adapt to different technologies and learn quickly.
• Motivation to work in a consultancy environment with variety and challenge.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects from early customer engagement to delivered solution across multiple market sectors.
• Develop on embedded Linux systems including Arm-based SoCs.
• Develop on RTOS and bare-metal embedded systems with various silicon vendors.
• Support system bring-up, board integration, debugging, and performance optimisation.
• Work collaboratively with FPGA and electronics teams.
• Participate in project planning, documentation and team software process.
