Job summary

Embedded Software Engineer – Embedded Linux / RTOS in the UK is sought to join a team delivering high-performance, real-time embedded software for mission-critical systems. You will design, develop, integrate and validate software running on dedicated hardware platforms, collaborating closely with hardware and systems engineers.

The role requires strong Embedded Linux, C/C++ and RTOS experience, with mentoring responsibilities and a pathway for technical progression.

Qualifications

• Strong Embedded Linux and C/C++ development experience.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux RT, FreeRTOS).
• Ability to design, implement and validate embedded software across the lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software in C/C++.
• Design software for Embedded Linux and real-time operating systems.
• Develop multi-threaded, deterministic software for embedded applications.
• Integrate software with embedded hardware platforms.
• Support software architecture, debugging, testing and validation.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to deliver robust solutions.
