About the Client

Our client is a fast-growing and innovative technology business specialising in the development of high-assurance security solutions. With a strong focus on research, engineering excellence, and complex problem-solving, they support a range of government and critical national infrastructure projects. Their work spans software engineering, microelectronics, and applied cryptography, offering exciting opportunities for candidates who thrive in technically challenging, mission-driven environments.

How you’ll spend your day

Develop and test high-integrity software solutions for cutting-edge cyber security products and systems. Work across the full software lifecycle — from analysing customer requirements and designing maintainable code, to implementing and unit testing embedded C/C++ solutions. Collaborate with a skilled engineering team, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation. Ensure software meets strict security and quality standards, often guided by formal specifications. Use embedded debugging tools (e.g. JTAG, ETM), apply test automation techniques, and work to industry coding standards (e.g. MISRA, CERT C). Occasionally travel within the UK as required.

What you’ll bring to this role
  • Strong background in embedded C/C++ development, particularly for ARM-based microcontrollers (e.g. STM-32) and multi-threaded RTOS environments.
  • Familiarity with software testing tools (e.g. LDRA, Parasoft), static analysis, and writing to secure coding standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell), knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, IP networking, and C# development.
  • Senior roles require at least 3 years’ relevant industry experience
