Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support clean energy and advanced technology projects in the UK. You will develop, validate, and support control system software across software, controls, and test engineering teams.

Based in Loughborough, this on-site, full-time role focuses on C development, Simulink-based control algorithms, and rigorous software verification throughout the product lifecycle, with opportunities for growth and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Experience developing embedded or control software.
• Proficiency in C programming and debugging.
• Experience with control algorithms and Simulink models.
• Knowledge of the software lifecycle and verification activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop Cell Voltage Monitoring software, including detailed design, coding, testing, and handover activities.
• Generate software lifecycle documentation and development process deliverables.
• Support bench testing activities and test rigs.
• Debug, test, and optimize software written in C.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver validated solutions.
