Job summary

AND Digital Limited in London is seeking four Embedded C++ Developers to join an in-house backend engineering team working on a highly regulated medical technology product. You'll own a self-contained area of the application from design through tested and documented code.

This contract role is immediate for 12 weeks and involves Linux-based, safety-critical software with formal quality processes, static analysis, and rigorous testing requirements. 2–3 days onsite in Kings Cross.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing modern C++17 applications on embedded Linux.
• Solid understanding of RAII, fixed-width types, std::atomic, multithreading and lock-free or bounded queues.
• Experience in deterministic, reliable software development for safety-critical systems.
• Experience with allocation-free or low-allocation runtimes and fixed-capacity containers.
• Proficiency with ports-and-adapters / hexagonal architecture and dependency injection.
• Strong Linux systems integration experience including services, watchdogs and fault management.
• Experience with IPC and serialization such as FlatBuffers, Unix-domain sockets, or named pipes.
• Proficient with CMake, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cross-compilation, preferably for aarch64.
• Strong unit testing, code coverage, and quality gates.
• Familiarity with safety-critical, mission-critical or highly regulated software.
• Aws/IoT/Jetson/CUDA knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own a self-contained area of the embedded application from design through tested and documented code.
• Collaborate with the Software Architect and other engineers to deliver delivery within your area.
• Develop alarms, start-up checks, data persistence, session management and service functionality.
• Implement robust fault handling, logging, and audit capabilities and ensure traceability.
• Work with OS telemetry, testing tools, and formal quality processes for safety-critical software.
