Job summary

AND Digital in London is seeking four Embedded C++ Developers for an in-house backend engineering team working on a highly regulated medical technology product. You will own a self-contained area from design through tested and documented code, across alarms, data persistence, supervision and service functionality.

The role requires strong C++17 on embedded Linux, focus on deterministic behaviour, and collaboration with Architects.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing modern C++17 applications on embedded Linux.
• Solid understanding of RAII, fixed-width types, std::atomic, multithreading and lock-free or bounded queues.
• Experience in software where deterministic behaviour and reliability are critical.
• Experience with low-allocation runtimes and fixed-capacity containers.
• Familiarity with ports-and-adapters and dependency injection.
• Strong Linux systems integration experience including services, watchdogs and fault management.
• Experience with IPC and serialization technologies such as FlatBuffers, Unix-domain sockets or named pipes.
• Experience with CMake, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cross-compilation, ideally for aarch64 platforms.
• Strong unit testing and code-coverage practices.
• Comfortable with formal engineering processes and design decisions.
• Experience on safety-critical or highly regulated software.

Responsibilities

• Own a self-contained area of the embedded application from design through tested and documented code.
• Work closely with Software Architect and engineers responsible for surrounding components.
• Deliver alarms, patient data persistence, device supervision and service functionality.
• Contribute to logging, audit logging and test infrastructure.
• Ensure robust fault handling, recovery and predictable system behaviour.
